Despite the best efforts of tropical storm Isidore, XML World 2002 in New Orleans again succeeded in bringing together a wide range of people and vendors to discuss a variety of XML initiatives and issues. And again, XML World continued to demonstrate a unique orientation towards the "business" dimension of XML applications. As was noted by several conference participants, this business focus was strongly evident in the presentations as well as in the conversations overheard along Bourbon Street. The quality of the presentations and the questions being raised remained the distinctive feature of XML World.
Memorable contributions were made by JP Morgenthan (Software AG), Sandeep Singhal (Reefedge), Patrick Gannon (OASIS), Ray Siddigh (PWC), Una Kearns (Documentum), Jonathan Robie (DataDirect), Dave Hollander (Contivo), Ulrich Leuthner (FileNet) and many others.
