The XML World conference series of events has become known and applauded for its status as an open and unbiased forum where the champions of different protocols, frameworks and technologies can meet and interact with each other and with representatives of global organizations looking for answers.

So once again, technology professionals and solution implementers, who have been pushing XML forward into every corner of the internet market, are asked to propose topics suitable for a presentation or tutorial.

Presentations are scheduled for a full 45 minutes with additional time for questions and discussions. The tutorials are typically scheduled to run for approximately three hours, with additional time for interaction. Full day tutorials, as may be needed for a detailed treatment of a technical subject, are always sought after as they satisfy the growing demand for comprehensive information on specific topics.

The conference structure for XML World 2002 will feature four core tracks, with each track being oriented towards assembling presentations that provide a comprehensive overview of an entire application domain for XML:

1. Business XML (instantaneous business transactions)
2. Content XML (personalized content)
3. Portal XML (enterprise portals)
4. Wireless XML (wireless mobility)

As an innovation this year, Conference Co-Chairs have been introduced with the mandate to tailoring specific track content so as to address these application domains with a dynamic and timely program. In each "track", the role of XML in accelerating the changes in each domain will be showcased. Keynote speakers will be sought to highlight the connections between these domains and to discuss how XML will sustain the evolution and integration of the progress being made in these different streams.

Deadline date: April 5th, 2002

You are an expert in XML and wish to share your expertise with leading analysts, top executives and the media? You wish to have an impact on the industry and share your insight? If yes, you are invited and welcome to submit your conference proposal.

Please include the following:

  • Your complete contact information including name, telephone number, mailing address, email address, position title, and organization name
  • Session Abstract: 150 words for your presentation and 250 words for a tutorial
  • Indicate your target audience: either introductory, intermediate technical, or developer level
  • Your brief biography (50 words) and a recent picture of yourself (electronic format suitable for use in the conference prospectus - print and online)

Please note: Presentations must be educational in nature and not be any sales, product or marketing information. As attendees have consistently objected to presentations that are in reality thinly-veiled sales pitches, presenters are strongly advised to observe this restriction. Speakers are also encouraged to prepare and present original material, as one of the functions of this event is to incite discussion about current technical and business issues. The conference organizers, and the Co-Chairs in particular, will review all proposals very carefully and, as before, the key selection criteria will include originality and objectivity.

The deadline to submit your proposal is
April 5th, 2002. The Selection Committee will be making its final selections on April 19, 2002 and you will be informed by email if your proposal has been chosen or not on that day.

Speakers will be required to provide their presentation materials a full three weeks in advance of the conference start date so that the attendees can be provided with the complete conference proceedings upon arrival.
